When it comes to mind-blowing backdrop and proximity to the action, street circuits deliver in spades. Roll out of bed at your hotel, and essentially, you’ve already reached your seat. Reference points like street lines and skyscrapers emphasize how fast these cars really run and also serve as a constant reminder that ... I’m in the heart of Singapore! Fan experiences include the giant Singapore Flyer Ferris wheel and DJs near the Bay Grandstand, art workshops, and of course grand pyrotechnics at the end of the race.

This city is obsessed with food, and we love it. From highly designed award-winning restaurants to boisterous street markets, the scene pleases all palates. Being an evening event, the day allows time for diversions around town. And after dark, the well-populated area remains safe. It’s hard to top the amenities at the area’s luxury high-rise hotels, many with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the entire circuit from high above (advanced reservations are absolutely recommended.)

The lighting. This Grand Prix has become known as the #f1nightrace, and whoever made the decision to start the formation lap after sundown deserves a spot on the top step. Floodlights hit the cars in all the right places for an even more spectacular display of speed. Not to mention the location of the podium celebration creates a seamless transition from racing to partying. Simply turn around and start the nightclub crawl. We would love to see a few more night races pop up on the F1 calendar, but admit that might spoil some of the fun at Singapore.
